Alexander Technique for Musicians:
The art and science of allowing efficient and effective musical technique
This three-hour workshop for musicians introduces the guiding principles of the Alexander Technique. Explore how “overdoing” becomes habitually engrained into one’s musical technique and discover a path to releasing unnecessary automatic responses to acquire more freedom, spontaneity, access to expression, and control in your musical practice and performance. Positive implications include a more enjoyable musical experience; richer, more accurate playing; prevention of repetitive motion injuries or chronic tension/pain from playing; and a decrease or eradication of performance anxiety.
The workshop is equally accessible and relevant whether you are new to playing music or a seasoned professional.
